Help us Support Victims of Sexual Violence
In her shoes, by her side
“She’s not a counsellor and she’s not a professional. She’s someone who really understands and is always there for me.” – Laura
As a supporter of Eaves you may already know that we run a peer support scheme for women who have experienced rape, sexual assault or sexual abuse at any time in their lives.
The scheme works by training volunteers who have survived and overcome experiences of sexual violence to support others facing similar experiences. After the programme of training is complete, we carefully pair women together so they can meet every week. This helps to reduce feelings of isolation and ensures women have the appropriate support to address a range of emotional and practical challenges so that they can rebuild their lives.
We are asking for a gift of £25. Your donation will go directly towards the costs of keeping this scheme open.
Your gift of £25 is enough for us to run one training session for three volunteers from this scheme. These training sessions ensure our volunteers have the knowledge and skills they need to help others facing similar situations.
The scheme is founded on our belief that, with the right support and training, women who have experienced sexual violence in the past can foster recovery in other women.
What your gift can mean for a survivor of sexual violence
£10 could provide phone credit for a volunteer to keep in contact with the woman she is supporting
£25 could pay for a training session for three volunteers to learn how to support women made vulnerable through experiences of violence.
£30 could provide travel costs for a volunteer to meet with the woman she is supporting for one month
