Yoga class and picnic for Poppy

On 8th July 2012 yoga teacher Emma Burton organised a fundraising yoga class and picnic on Hampsted Heath to help raise funds for Eaves’ Poppy Project.

The rain didn’t put any attendees off and15 people went along to enjoy the activities, raising a total of £135 for Eaves.

Emma says….

“I decided to set up the yoga class in aid of the Poppy Project because I felt a need to somehow help and yoga is my way of offering something in order to generate funds. I have closely followed the issue of human trafficking for sometime now as well as the work of Eaves. I feel that the work of the Poppy Project is crucial to enable the affected women to get back on track.

“I was incredibly touched that 15 of my regular students showed up on Hampstead Heath for this event in the drizzly weather to raise funds for such a worthy cause.”

A big thank you to Emma and everyone who went along! If you run an event for Eaves, don’t forget to tell us so that we can tell everyone about it.

Please contact Zoe Durnford at zoe.durnford@eavesforwomen.org.uk for more information on how you can put an event together.
